How Does Thrive Compare (Health & Cost)?

Hmmm... good question! How does Thrive compare when it comes to health? If you check out our WHY THRIVE (Healthy) page you'll learn a lot about how Thrive compares to FRESH food and there's even a little bit about how Thrive compares to FAST FOOD. If you follow the link above and skim through the whole website you should find this little tid bit, too!

This section basically states that when you use Thrive in your home - or choose to use Thrive instead of grabbing some fast food on your way home you would typically save money and end up eating something that is healthier for you, too!

Okay, that is great to know, but how does that really compare? Give me some true hard facts, please....! I know when we're super busy and tired or on the go it is VERY tempting to stop somewhere and grab a quick bite to eat (I know I am guilty, - you're not the only one) but then that is EXTRA money spent on food that we didn't plan for and usually not a very healthy option! Recently, I've decided that I'd like to start eating healthier and possibly lose some weight - very hard when eating on the go all the time - so let's take a look at what we're eating or what we CAN eat when we have Thrive in our home.

Here we have a lovely meal in a jar of THRIVE Chicken Chili that serves four.

This is a very colorful meal - my mouth starts watering just looking at it! Can you tell I'm hungry?

I wanted to compare the nutrition aspect first to see if eating Thrive really IS HEALTHIER to eat other than simply hearing that it is Non GMO, Non MSG,Gluten Free, and no added preservatives. So, I made  a nice little chart and broke down all of the ingredients based off of the serving amount the recipe calls for. This is what I came up with...

* Chicken Bouillon added LOTS of sodium to this meal - if you don't use Thrive Bouillon - there's only 13.75 g of sodium in this meal. Alas...

So HOW does this compare?

Well, let's take a look!

Just some popular fast food items out there that we might be tempted
to get on an occasional or regular basis!

Do these look like familiar meal choices to you?

Pepperoni

Papa John's 1 large slice of Pepperoni Pizza =

330 calories
14 g fat
870 mg sodium
37 g carbohydrates
13 g protein
2 g fiber

So for ONE slice of pizza you have already at MORE CALORIES, MORE FAT, and MORE CARBS for 1/8 of a pizza compared to 1/4 of THRIVE Chicken Chili. The sodium in ONE slice of pizza is getting close to the same amount of sodium in a serving of the chili WITH the Chicken Bouillon in it, but the chili contains more than twice the amount of Fiber. How many of you only eat ONE slice of pizza when there is a WHOLE pizza in front of you? I know I have got to have 2 slices at least... which means I by far exceed the nutrition facts for ONE slice of pizza :P

McDonald's Big Mac (WITHOUT fries and drink) =

550 calories
29 g fat
970 mg sodium
46 g carbohydrates
25 g protein
3 g fiber

So for ONE sandwich without fries and a drink you have already consumed 352 MORE Calories, 28 MORE grams of FAT, almost just as much sodium (with the bouillon), 16 MORE carbohydrates, twice as much protein, with LESS fiber! Are you full after eating your burger? Or do you still want your drink and fries? Some chicken nuggets, perhaps?

We could compare FAST FOOD options all day long and come up with similar results.

The more I play with these numbers and try to calculate things reminds me of how much I want to be using my THRIVE so I don't feel guilty when I eat! Thanks to the freeze drying process Thrive foods are able to retain maximum nutrients and flavor - I have found that I can eat a smaller quantity of food when I use thrive because I'm getting the MOST nutrients I possibly can for what I am eating :)

So, eating THRIVE could possibly SAVE MY LIFE, but what about my wallet?

YES, THRIVE can save you there, too!

When you sign up for the Q or attend a Thrive Life Party you are guaranteed the LOWEST pricing possible on our foods! Especially as a Q Club customer - ask me more for details!

So how much can Thrive save me?

See how Tammy saved money on her groceries by using THRIVE.

If I were to go the Papa Johns and purchase a Large Pepperoni Pizza it would cost me $14.32  - an entire large pizza could feed four people with two slices per person.

If I were to go to McDonald's and purchase FOUR Big Macs
(one for each person) it would cost me $15.08 WITHOUT drinks, fries, chicken nuggets, etc.

However, if I were to buy the foods that I needed for Thrive it would only cost me $7.12 (#10 can) -$9.03 (pantry can) to make THRIVE Chicken Chili and feed a family of four!

SAVE MONEY - on the Q with Thrive - have food shipped directly to you in your home, no impulse buying at the grocery store or in the fast food line!
