Hmm...How Do You Like Your Peas?

Okay, last week I decided to make a pasta dish. I ran to my rotating shelf and grabbed a can of

peas. Without thinking I opened them up and when I saw my peas I was kind of disgusted - they

weren't bright or colorful and they didn't look very appealing. Then I remembered I have THRIVE

Peas in my cupboard, but I hadn't opened them yet. So I decided to pop the top off and see what

they looked like. Check out the difference!

Regular canned peas on the left and THRIVE peas on the right.

Regular canned peas in the can.

Dry THRIVE Peas in the can.

Believe it or not, but the regular canned peas on the left (above) were much darker than

what you see here in these pictures and this is after draining what liquid was in the can already.

The regular canned peas definitely do NOT have a 'fresh' feel whatsoever!

They just look soft and squishy...

After seeing the difference in the peas presentation I then wondered what difference the nutritional

value was... since I keep mentioning how healthy Thrive is and that its GMO Free, Gluten Free,

MSG Free, Preservative Free, etc. how does Thrive differ from your regular canned peas?

So I looked at both labels and this is what I saw...

Comparison side by side - reg canned peas on left, THRIVE Peas on right.

Let's take a closer LOOK at these labels.

Right here we have regular canned peas...

CHECK OUT the amount of SODIUM in these peas

there is 370mg of sodium, really!?

To me that sounds like a LOT of sodium. My mother-in-law has had to deal with some health

issues throughout her life and I know that she needs to watch her sodium intake.

You will most likely NOT find these in her daily meal planning - that's for sure!

Now let's look at THRIVE peas, specifically how much sodium it contains...

Can you see how much sodium is in THRIVE peas?

On the label it reads ZERO mg of Sodium!

Now these are peas that I could see my mother-in-law using in her meals on a regular basis.

Isn't that amazing?! THRIVE Peas have LESS SODIUM, carbs, and fat in their peas!

Want to know what else is interesting? Do you really know what is in your canned foods?

Well, let's look at the ingredients!

In our regular can of peas it contains peas, water, SUGAR, and salt.

Now if I want to eat peas, why do I need the extra sugar, too? If I'm trying to have my kids eat

healthy, using my canned foods kind of defeats that purpose if I'm still giving them

all this extra salt and sugar don't you think so? How often do we look

at our cans to see 'what else' is in our foods that we eat everyday?

What if I told you that with Thrive you could eat JUST PEAS, not all the extra salt and sugar?

Well, it's no surprise that with Thrive you can do just that (see middle of picture towards bottom)!

Thrive Peas are healthier than your regular canned peas.

In fact, they're even HEALTHIER than your 'grocery store fresh' peas, too.

Thanks to the wonderful freeze drying process!

Unlike reg 'fresh produce' that is picked long before they're naturally ripened, packaged,

transported, put in cold storage, artificial ripening, etc. Thrive produce is picked when naturally

ripened, flash frozen within 2-12 hours, then vacuum sealed to absorb moisture, and you can eat

those delicious peas for an ENTIRE YEAR once you have opened your can

OR
store them for up to 25 years

They will that same great taste, texture, nutrients, and color years later!

How cool is that?

I LOVE MY THRIVE!!!

In fact, I'm not the only one that LOVES my Thrive foods! When I popped open my can of

Thrive Peas my son decided he wanted to try them out, too. Of course, I gave him some

thinking he wouldn't like them since they're one of those 'green vegetables' he hasn't liked

before, but....

to my surprise he said, "THIS IS DELICIOUS, MOMMY!" and asked for MORE!

(I really wish I had a picture of this, but I didn't think about it at the time.)

The important thing though is that myy son went from NEVER

wanting to eat his peas to LOVING his peas!

I would like to thank Thrive Life for this...because of Thrive Life my family is able to eat

healthier meals and actually ENJOY eating our healthy foods - likes peas!
